There are several methods for installing hardwood floors. They are nailing the hardwood floor down, gluing the hardwood floor down or floating the hardwood floor. Nailing down the hardwood floor is the most popular and typical for solid wood floors. The next method, gluing the hardwood floor down is effective however, not highly recommended for all wood floors. The floating method is a cleaner installation and does allow the floor to expand and contract better, but each hardwood floor and house needs to be examined to determine the best hardwood floor installation.
